LOS ANGELES, CA (June 24, 2009) Travel and Tourism Marketing Association (TTMA) is honoring the President/CEO of the West Hollywood Marketing and Visitors Bureau, Brad Burlingame, with the Anastasia K. Mann Leadership Award and The Original Farmers Market, with their prestigious Landmark Award. The awards ceremony will be held Thursday, October 1, 2009, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at historic Gilmore Adobe, adjacent to the Original Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax, in Los Angeles.
“TTMA is honoring Brad Burlingame for his endless support of California's tourism industry" states Lovetta Kramer, President of the Travel and Tourism Marketing Association and co-chair of this event.
“Farmers Market is being awarded the TTMA Landmark Award because it is one of the most iconic and long lasting destinations and is an indispensable component of Southern California’s tourism product. Celebrating its 75thanniversry, Farmers Market is the original produce market of L.A. and quickly evolved into one of the city's most popular tourist destinations” adds Joanie McClellan, Executive Director of TTMA.
The Anastasia K. Mann Leadership Award and the TTMA Landmark Award were created to honor leaders and historical venues in the travel and tourism industry. The Anastasia K. Mann Leadership Award is given to individuals whose direction and vision have made a lasting impact on the travel and tourism industry. The TTMA Landmark Award was created to acknowledge important tourism landmarks representing vital and dynamic examples of historically and culturally significant places, which play an important role in Southern California tourism.
